What happened
A stick of four high-explosive bombs fell across the cavalry and infantry barracks at Fulford, one on the barrack square and one behind the sports pavilion.
Casualty note
Raids Over York states that six soldiers were killed here. That figure is single-sourced: the project's casualty register covers civilian deaths and holds no individual records for Fulford, so it could not be corroborated name by name as the other York figures on this site have been.
Photographs
Photographs of the Baedeker raid
Raids Over York has a large photographic record of this night. The images belong to the York Press, Explore York, the National Railway Museum and private collectors — not to us, and not to the project either — so this links to them rather than copying them.
