What happened
A wartime bomb was uncovered at a construction site on Sandy Lane Business Park at 2.55pm. Sand was brought in to absorb the blast before the device was made safe the following day.
How it was made safe
Fuze detonated in a controlled explosion by 8th Engineer Brigade behind 340 tonnes of sand, and the bomb removed.
Evacuation
Nearly 100 homes evacuated within a 100m cordon.
