What happened
A bomb hit the GWR goods yard at Saltash railway station during the same 28 April 1941 raid that struck the town centre, killing 18-year-old Donald Noel Cummins, a Scout and Auxiliary Fire Service volunteer on duty that night.
Also worth knowing
Part of the same short, deadly raid described in the Fore Street & Commercial Place record — bombs released by aircraft returning from Plymouth after lightening their load over the Tamar.
