What happened
One of the final two V-2 rockets launched at Britain struck Kynaston Road, Orpington, leaving a crater around forty feet across and twenty feet deep.
Casualty note
Ivy Millichamp, aged 34, killed in the kitchen of her home. Twenty-four people were injured.
