What happened

One of the butterfly bombs scattered across Grimsby and Cleethorpes on 13–14 June 1943 came down on Kingsley Grove in the Nunsthorpe estate, fatally injuring an air raid warden.

An ARP warden was fatally injured after reportedly disturbing an unexploded butterfly bomb on Kingsley Grove.
