What happened
A V-1 flying bomb crashed into Bridge Street near the harbour, destroying nine houses and the Wheatsheaf Inn.
Casualty note
Three killed, including the licensee of the Wheatsheaf Inn, and sixty injured.

Folkestone recorded 123 civilian deaths, 778 injuries and 14,141 properties damaged across the war. Like Dover, it was shelled from France as well as bombed; its worst shelling day was 14 September 1944.
