What happened
The yard that built the Queen Mary and, at that moment, the battleship Duke of York was one of the two targets the raids were aimed at. It was hit, but it kept working.
Casualty note
No per-site death toll published. The town-wide figure of 528 is carried on the Clydebank raids record.
Also worth knowing
The point is the Titan cantilever crane, a listed structure still standing on the site. The striking thing about both nights is how much less damage the yards took than the tenements around them.
